Leader Instruments recently attended the 17th annual Broadcast & Cable show on August 27-29, 2008 in the Imigrantes Exhibition Center of São Paulo, Brazil. This event serves as an international fair of technology in equipment and services for Television Engineering, Broadcasting and Telecommunications for South America and Latin America.

This year, Leader had equipment located prominently in several locations throughout the booth of Technovideo, the distributor of Leader Instruments' broadcast and production equipment in Brazil. The reason for this configuration was to demonstrate the practical use of test and measurement equipment throughout the entire production and broadcast workflow.

The booth was designed with a lit stage area, and the newest products to be introduced were shown in action next to the cameras. The LV5330 and LV5380 are compact waveform monitors that can easily transition from rackmounted configurations to on-set tools. Demonstrations of the products showed how it was easy to ensure no gamut errors during image acquisition using the 5-Bar tool and quickly determine luminance trouble spots using the Cinelite and Cinezone software options.

Just around the corner was a rackmount with remote controlling of the cameras and signal distribution system. Included in this equipment was our multi-format signal generator, LT443D, provided syncing to all of the mounted equipment and produced necessary test patterns for the supporting equipment. In addition, our multi-monitor platform, LV5800, was installed to monitor all four of the incoming camera feeds on one unit and demonstrated its versatility in a central control environment.

Leader also had a dedicated area to demonstrate some of the other products that round out their product line. The video rasterizer, LV7700, was shown as a simple and low-cost solution for remote or compact environments. In addition, it can come in a SD only version (LV7720) which can be easily upgraded later on to support SD and HD. For manufacturers in attendance, the LG3802S1-1 BR RF Signal Generator for SBTVD-T and ISDB-T signals was also shown.
